"RANGE RULES"
Please DO NOT come to the club if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- 1) Members and guests must sign in at the desk upon arrival.
- 2) Guests may only shoot air guns or .22 caliber firearms.
- 3) Guests must be supervised at all times by the sponsoring member.
- 4) Members or guests who are under 18 years of age may only shoot air guns unless they are under the direct and immediate (arms length) supervision of the person who is in lawful possession of the firearm.
- 5) Membership cards must be worn at all times when in the club.
ONLY MEMBERS AND PAID GUESTS MAY ENTER THE RANGE.- 6) No loaded firearms in the clubroom.
- 7) No loaded magazines in the clubroom.
- 8) Firearms in the clubroom: All firearms in the clubroom will be in boxes or cases. However, rifles may be placed in the rifle rack in the clubroom. Pistols maybe placed on the gun service table. In these situations, magazines will be removed.
- 9) Cleaning of Firearms in the clubroom: for health and safety reasons, firearms will not be cleaned in the clubroom.
- 10) No holsters may be used except at times specifically designated for holster use by the executive.
- 11) Food, drink or smoking is not allowed on the range. Because of health issues, please wash before eating in the clubroom.
- 12) Try to keep distracting noise to a minimum when on the range.
- 13) The RANGE SAFETY OFFICER has absolute authority and must be obeyed at all times in the clubroom or on the range.
- 14) All discharge of firearms must take place from behind the wide black line (25 meter) within the established shooting positions AND within one foot (30 cm) of the black line. Our ventilation system works at greatest efficiency if the shooter is within one foot (30cm) of the black line.
- 15) Keep the muzzle pointed in the safest possible direction at all times.
- 16) It is safe to fire only when the red light is on and/or the red flag is flying.
- 17) Do not fire if the amber light is on and/or the green flag is flying.
- 18) Keep your finger off the trigger until on target and ready to fire.
- 19) Shoot only at paper targets (not at other range equipment).
- 20) When a cease fire is called: stop shooting, unload the gun, open the action, remove the magazine, place the firearm on the table with the muzzle pointing down range and stand back behind the yellow line.
- 21) Shooting may resume only after the RANGE SAFETY OFFICER has declared the “line is hot”.
- 22) No firearms will leave the firing line with magazines in place.
- 23) Moving firearms to and from the firing line: firearms may only be moved onto and off of the range: i. by holding the end of the barrel and the barrel pointing at the ceiling, or ii. in a box or case.
- 24) When finished shooting please try to return shooting position to good order if possible.
- 25) Pistol: all pistol calibers are allowed up to .44 magnum (no Thompson Contenders etc)
- 26) Rifle: ONLY .22 Long Rifle is allowed.
- 27) NO rifles that are chambered for hand gun calibers are allowed.
- 28) It is strongly recommended that hearing and eye protection be worn when on the firing line. Persons choosing not to use hearing or eye protection do so at their own risk.
- 29) No incendiary, tracer or armour piercing bullets may be used.
- 30) No black powder firearms are permitted.
